Music plays a vital role at WABC. The WABC Music & Worship Ministry exists to lead our congregation in glorifying and praising God. West Asheville’s Music Ministry offers something for everyone in your family. From singing and playing instruments to special productions, you can find a place to use your talents to serve the Lord.
Get Involved
Choir
Know This: Not everyone in the choir reads music or is a soloist, and only a few have musical training. Come give choir a try—there is no risk or obligation!
Schedule: Rehearsals every Wednesday 7:30-8:45 PM in the Music Suite.
Get Involved: Just come to a rehearsal! A greeter will assist you with rehearsal music, finding a place to sit, and introducing you to new friends.
Orchestra
Know This: The West Asheville Baptist Orchestra comprises individuals passionate about using their talents to honor God. Individuals must have prior experience with a musical instrument. We welcome participants who are committed and faithful to attend rehearsals and performances.
Schedule: Orchestra rehearses on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:45 PM in the Music suite.

Student Music Team
Know This: The Student Music Team is open to all students (7th grade-12th grade) and meets periodically throughout the year. The students help lead worship several times throughout the year and participate in the Christmas and Easter musicals.
Schedule: The Student Music Teams rehearse on Sunday afternoons from 5:00-6:00 PM.

Media Team
Know This: This committed team enriches our worship experiences by utilizing various media technology and online streaming services.
The Media Team coordinates all the sound, screens, and lights for our live broadcasts.
Get Involved: No prior technical experience, just a willingness to learn. We provide the training for you.
Handbell Choir
Know This: The Handbell Choir meets at various times throughout the year and performs musical selections during Spring and Christmas worship services. Prior musical experience is required to ring handbells.
Schedule: Practices in the fall and spring on Sunday afternoons as scheduled.

Drama
Every spring, we use drama to enhance our Easter Passion play. The group rehearses for several months before the presentation during Palm Sunday weekend.
